Dow Automotive Systems’ popular Fixed Glass Training Program is now registered by the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS) Council in all four categories – Retention Systems, Mechanical Training of Glass Replacement, Installation Standards and Procedures, and AGR Safety Issues. The Fixed Glass Training Program was among the first to be registered when AGRSS began certifying training programs in 2007. Now, AGRSS-registered glass shops that complete the Dow Automotive Systems training program also fulfil the AGRSS requirement for training, as detailed in Article 8 of the Standard.
“With attendance of more than 25,000 over the years, auto glass shops from coast to coast have relied on our Fixed Glass Training Program to help their technicians work faster, safer, smarter and cleaner,” said Dale Malcolm, technical manager, Aftermarket, for Dow Automotive Systems. “Complete AGRSS training compliance is one more good reason to take advantage of this free, comprehensive training program.”
Dow Automotive Systems tailors training to fit the needs of each auto glass shop, providing instructors, materials and on-site/hands-on training at no cost to the customer. An ideal means of teaching new employees proper installation procedures, the Fixed Glass Training Program can also reinforce or update past training for experienced installers while building teamwork and camaraderie.
Accredited by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI), AGRSS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the safe replacement of auto glass. Participating companies must submit the elements of their training programs to the AGRSS Council for review to determine whether they comply with the AGRSS standard, which addresses procedures, education and product performance.
