  • Reducing Exhaust Emissions

With up to 30 percent better fuel economy and up to 25 percent fewer CO2 emissions, diesel engines represent a cleaner alternative power source to gasoline-powered engines.

Dow Automotive Systems is enhancing the appeal of diesel engines with solutions that filter the inherent diesel particulate matter.

High Filtration

AERIFY™ diesel particulate filters allow vehicle manufacturers to reduce diesel particulate emissions to meet more stringent regulations while delivering superior performance at lower total system cost. AERIFY diesel particulate filters feature an advanced ceramic material with a unique microstructure that provides high filtration and extremely low back pressure, resulting in higher engine performance and reduced fuel consumption. Benefits include:

  • Up to 30 to 50 percent lower back pressure versus competitive materials, resulting in improved engine performance and fuel efficiency

  • High performance, even when loaded with soot, due to deep-bed filtration

  • Superior ash tolerance and chemical resistance for excellent durability

  • Excellent mechanical strength for durability and canning

  • Significant weight reduction versus current competitive materials

  • Ability to reduce part size by 20 percent or more for system cost reduction

  • Better utilization of catalyst, enabling further system cost reduction

AERIFY DPFs are now available for product program sampling for light- and heavy-duty on-road and off-road applications. Learn more.

Road Tested

Before Dow’s technology was adopted for commercial truck use, it was road-tested in some of the most punishing races on the planet – and came out a winner. Dow Automotive worked with Audi, Volkswagen and Peugeot to install its advanced diesel particulate filters into performance race cars, and the filters were on board in the first-ever diesel-powered cars to capture the checkered flag at both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance races.
