BETAMATE™ 1486
  • BETAMATE™ 1486

BETAMATE technology provides a high performance bonding solution for a variety of substrates. BETAMATE structural adhesives replace welds and mechanical fasteners and reduce fatigue and failure commonly found around spot welds and fasteners. BETAMATE technology is used in the earliest stage in body design to make it stiffer, safer, lighter and better crash resistant.

BETAMATE 1486 is a one-part, high performance, heat curing, fracture-toughened epoxy adhesive. It is designed for bonding automotive vehicle structures. It is a crash durable adhesive designed to give superior failure mode in all modes of testing. It has exceptional toughness for an epoxy adhesive even at -40 degrees C and at high rates of test speed

Product Benefits:

  • Provides a low-cost, durable solution for structural joining application
  • High impact at -40 degrees C
  • Reduces fatigue and failure commonly found around spot welds and fasteners
  • Seals against corrosion-causing environmental conditions
  • Excellent adhesion to metal and non-metal surfaces

Application: BETAMATE 14846 adhesive can be applied on the flange areas on doors, roofs, hoods, panels and structural reinforcement parts directly on the oiled metal.

Application Methods: BETAMATE 14846 adhesive maybe cured in typical e-coat bake conditions from 10 minutes at 155 degrees Celsius to 60 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius.

OEM Specifications: BETAMATE 14846 adhesive meets GM 9982286 specifications.
