BETAMATE technology provides a high performance bonding solution for a variety of substrates. BETAMATE structural adhesives replace welds and mechanical fasteners and reduce fatigue and failure commonly found around spot welds and fasteners. BETAMATE technology is used in the earliest stage in body design to make it stiffer, safer, lighter and better crash resistant.
BETAMATE 1620 is a one-part, high performance, heat curing, fracture-toughened epoxy adhesive. It is capable of bonding oily galvanized steel and provides excellent long-term durability. It also has improved uncured humidity resistance and can be dispensed at ambient temperatures. In addition, it has excellent impact-peel strength as measured by ISO 11343.
Product Benefits:
-
Provides a low-cost, durable solution for structural joining application
-
Greater crash resistance than spot-welded or mechanically fitted joints
-
High impact strength performance at -40 degrees C
-
Adhesion to most metals and alloys
-
Weld-through ability within one hour
-
Excellent corrosion protection
Application: BETAMATE 1620 structural adhesive can be applied on the flange areas on doors, roofs, hoods, panels and structural reinforcement parts directly on the oiled metal
Application Methods: As a continuous bondline, swirled, sprayed and extruded.
