BETAPRIME 5201 Bare Metal Etch Primer enables shops to keep simple bare metal priming applications in-house to save time and ensure compatibility. It allows glass shops to treat corrosion levels 1, 2 and 3 and cures almost 100 times faster than
2-part etch primers. Bare metal areas over 1/2" x 1/2" should be primed with a bare metal etching primer to establish a structural base for the pinchweld primer. The etching primer also protects metal from developing corrosion over an extended period of time. If left untreated, bare metal can adversely affect vehicle safety.

Application Methods:
BETAPRIME 5201 Bare Metal Etch Primer should be applied at temperatures of 20°F (-6.6°C) or higher and requires shaking for at least one (1) minute immediately before use. The metal surface should be cleaned with an abrasive pad, making sure to rough up the edges of painted areas. The metal should then be wiped with a clean, lint-free paper towel dampened with 100% acetone. Allow the acetone two (2) minutes to flash. Using a clean, unused dauber, apply an even coat of BETAPRIME 5201. Allow at least 15 minutes for material to dry. Apply a coat of BETAPRIME 5404A Pinchweld and Encapsulation primer on top of the primed area, making sure to completely cover BETAPRIME 5201 primer. Allow a minimum of six (6) minutes for the BETAPRIME 5404A to dry.
